Development of Draft One of a script involves communication between the script writer, and a suitable company representative to ensure all aspects of the material is covered appropriately. Draft One of the script is emailed to the company representative to allow time to read through the scripts in detail. Feedback from this initial phase is then incorporated into the script, and draft two developed.
Once the script is at draft two it would again be emailed to the company representative for comment. By the second draft of the scripts, CCC would have enough information to start on basic pre-production which involves the process of casting actors (if required), booking crew, location organization, and designing the look and style of the videos. By developing the look and style of the video early, any pre-planning required to ensure that the video is shot in a particular manner can be prepared.
The third and final draft of the script would then be developed. Once this shooting script has been approved and signed off, we can complete pre-production and go into the shoot.

There are various types of shoots, but all generally involve at the very least, a Camera Operator (or Director of Photography), Sound Recordist and a Director. The amount of crew required is based upon what is in the script and the budget. Concept can organize any sized crew involving highly skilled and experienced television and film production personnel.
Drama Shoots
CCC generally shoot any drama sequences first, then get a presenter to perform their parts after any drama shoots. Concept would coordinate the drama shoots over the allocated shoot days in the locations as devised in pre-production. CCC has extensive experience working with actors and crew on drama. This allows us to design a shoot to cover the necessary areas of the script in the least amount of time. Through thorough planning in pre-production, the majority of hurdles can be smoothed out to ensure that drama shoots run smoothly and efficiently.
Presenter Shoots
Depending upon the style of the video, we may shoot the presenter upon a greenscreen to allow them to be incorporated into a suitable background for the final video. Alternatively, we can shoot the presenter in a real life situation, though we do find we can shoot presenter pieces very quickly in a studio with the use of a computer based prompter (as used by news presenters) due to a totally controlled environment.
Voice Over Recording
Generally, we record the voice over after we have completed the Presenter shoot, if a presenter is involved. Otherwise, we bring in professional voice over talent and record the script being read in the Concept voice over booth.
Once we have all the material captured for the editing process to begin, we plan and enter the post production phase.

As material is shot and recorded on the wild reels from the shoot, post production can commence. This involves going through the tapes, logging the best and most useful shots, and converting these from on tape to on the computer based digital edit system (digitizing). Once on the computer, the shots can be edited into draft one of the video. Any presenter shots are also composited and inserted into the program, as well as any titles and graphics. If animation is required, this would also have by now been created and be ready for insertion into the video.
Draft one of the video is usually provided to our clients on VHS or DVD with a timecode burnt into the bottom left hand corner of frame. As your representatives watch the video, you can make a note of any issues and a note of the time into the video that they occur (using a Concept shotlist sheet). Using these notes, we can quickly fix any issues by referring to the same time in the video program on the digital edit system.
With alterations to draft one complete, we can get draft two of the video to you, the client, and the video should be getting very close to a final version. We again provide a timecode dub for approval. If this is signed off, we can go to duplication by mastering the video to tape, and sending this off to our duplicators for final VHS or DVD production. The final product will be delivered to you for distribution.

DVD’s (Digital Versitile Disc) are the way of the future and allow a lot more versatility than either VHS tapes or CD-ROM for the display of video. Concept uses DVD’s to create modular or interactive videos and presentations that will work on set top DVD players and also within a PC (with a DVD drive). They also allow for the addition of DVD-ROM content that can provide highly interactive PC based applications on the same disc. Their introduction truly has changed the face of video production. The creation of DVD has gone through the roof in the past two years, and the fact they are more cost effective and time efficient to reproduce than VHS, means they have become the new standard in video production.

This involves the creation of interactive CD/DVD based applications incorporating almost any type of media (video, graphics, documents, sound/music, etc.). Concept has been involved in jobs ranging from one promotional video and some contact information to very large scale projects involving multiple video files, PDF documentation, and animated navigation structures.
Multi-media can be very complex, or very simple. If you have digital information that needs to be distributed in an interesting and interactive way, we can help design a multimedia application that is technologically cutting edge, but simple and intuitive to use for your end user. The possibilities are endless, and as usual, if you can think it up, it can be done.

Concept has been incorporating 3D animation and logo treatments since its commercial infancy in around 1993. The demand for 3D modeling and animation has increased rapidly in the last few years. With multiple full-time employees well versed in 3D production and a wealth of freelance animators to call upon, we have created many animated sequences and complete animated video presentations. At Concept, we believe the focus of video is telling the story well, and we will use 3D animation as a very useful tool in assisting us to get your message across. Don’t worry about that it does not exist, or that it is too big or too small to capture using a camera. If you can think it up, it can be done.

With Green Screen Chromakey facilities within our studio, Concept has the ability to shoot a presenter and put them onto any background. The basic process is that we light our green screen wall so it is bright green. We then shoot your presenter in front of the screen. The resulting video is then captured onto computer and the green behind your presenter is taken out digitally. When we put an image, or video behind the presenter, the bits where the green was becomes transparent and lets the background image show through (see images to the right). We also have portable Green and Blue Screen facilities for busy or motion impaired clients.

Time-lapse photography is another very useful tool we have up our sleeve. It is generally used to capture single images over a period of time which when played back, give the illusion of time going very fast. An example of this is one of the Newcastle Port Corporations time-lapse sequences which shows coal ships being brought in to berth, loaded and being taken out of the port again - all in the space of a minute. Time-lapse is great for capturing longer term projects as well, such a building construction site which may have a photo taken every hour for a period of a year. The resulting footage can be used in many ways, such as in your Company Corporate Video, Award Nominee Presentations or even for studies on how traffic or people may move around your site.
Concept has developed a time-lapse system for use in either short-term time-lapse (up to a couple of days) or long term time-lapse (over two days to several years). Please give us a call to discuss your time-lapse requirements.

Concept has developed a teleprompter system for use in our studio or externally. The system allows a presenter, or person talking to camera, to read the words they have to say projected directly in front of the camera. Through the use of angled glass, a custom built prompter housing, and a laptop, we have developed a reliable system for assisting any presenter with the delivery of their performance.
The teleprompter system is easily transportable, allowing us to assist any client with the delivery of their message. People we have worked with have included company CEO’s delivering important messages to their employees and shareholders, celebrities in their delivery of spoken material to camera, and even in mock interview situations where the respondent has to say exactly the right response. Concept has worked hard to ensure you can deliver your message in a comfortable and enjoyable environment, and you can concentrate on the delivery, and not having to remember all the words.
If you know what you want to say, but just need a few point reminders, the teleprompter system is ideal for these memory joggers, allowing you to speak naturally, but with the structure of a well planned speech.
